Camping in the rain

Each year Vilnius lyceum organizes annual gathering of student in the open expanse of nature. I was advised by everyone asked not to miss out on such experience even despite the fact it was in the middle of my semester exams. Well, it certainly was an unforgettable experience.
To begin with, the excitement of a student crowd quickly disappeared as we stepped out of the train into the rain. The whole time we walked to the camp it rained in varying intensities but still decently. Everyone was soaked but still in a good mood. After assembling the tent with my friends it stopped raining and I was able to join a few activities here and there such as "Potato" game. The activity  I got really excited about was announced later; it was a two-hour hike in the woods. I really enjoy nature so after a half a year of daily "activities" inside by my laptop I was more than determined to participate in that hike.
Luckily, we were not caught up by the rain and enjoyed fresh air and such a pleasant company of trees. It took us more than two hours to finish the hike, but I feel like I could have walked around the forest and it would still be not enough! Yes, I enjoyed it that much. Moreover, a few of my friends joined me and we had lovely conversations while plowing through the bushes.
The other activity I joined towards the end of the evening was folk dances. At first, I was really confused as almost everyone knew the moves and it seemed that I was the only one struggling. However, I was lucky to find a partner who danced as a true pro and helped me to learn the moves and have fun while dancing.
Unfortunately, we were not allowed to stay for the night due to weather conditions. I was glad and disappointed at the same time. Glad because some of my clothes were still wet, but disappointed because initially I was looking forward to cozy conversations along the camp fire as well as sleeping in the tent. There's nothing else left as to hope to experience all of this next year.
