Helping to save the children once again

   Not even a month have passed since I first volunteered for the "Save the children Lithuania" and I'm already back with another post of this activity. This time I shared the experience with my classmate Kamilė at the shopping centre "Mandarinas".
   To be honest, that evening my desire to volunteer was below zero. All I wished for after a long day at school was to get home as quickly as possible and curl up in my cozy bed with a cup of hot tea. However, despite of the aversion to the upcoming work the thought of a good cause kept me going.
   From the beginning till the end of volunteering hours the flow of people we met was minor but consistent. Kamilė and I agreed in advance to share the responsibilities this way increasing our efficiency. My job was to walk to people and introduce them to the program and Kamilė's job was to show how to make a donation on the terminal. Compared to the last time our team managed to convince almost the same amount of people, around eighteen, even though most of the passers-by were already familiar with the organization "Save the children" and their aim.
   It was nice to overcome myself and do an act of kindness even the small one for those children that are deprived of love, necessary thing for living, schooling and safe and warm environment.

Already in the primary school children are introduced to the art of origami. As much as I remember from my own childhood, it's usually a boat and a hat the most two common figures to fold. They are already pretty easy to make for a child so I decided to try something more challenging in this sphere. I chose to practice a few animals: a frog,  a dinosaur and a shark. Learning spelling and syntax

Three months have passed unnoticeably and it doesn’t even seem that Aušrinė and I had a solid amount of meetings. The IB workload sometimes distorted our plans but we did everything that’s in our hands to have the most high quality lessons. The month of November wasn’t as exciting as previous ones because the lessons became somewhat boring. There was no feeling of excitment neither from me nor from Aušrinė. It became as a duty for us and we agreed to skip a few weeks. It was nice to take a break in the middle of the month and I instantly noticed the difference when we had a lesson once again. Aušrinė actually offered to start working more individually thus complete the tasks alone without working in a group. I enjoyed this way of learning but not because it was easier (it actually was much harder), rather because I clearly identified my weak sides of both spelling and syntax and knew what to work on a bit more. Great price - great job

We live in a world where it's getting more and more expensive to live a qualitative life. It's always frustrating to learn that the price of your favorite bread, milk or product in general has risen, but from my yesterday's experience the increase of value is not necessarily a negative thing. Less than 24 hours ago I volunteered at the new Food bank project called "Great price - great job", which was initiated by "IKI" retail chain. This market raised prices of 12 popular products by 1 euro and all the additional money will be donated to Food bank for the infrastructure, warehouse equipment etc. For the past sixteen years this company collected and distributed thousands of tons of food a year to those in need without any payment. After this long period of time, all the equipment has outdated and now it's in need for renewal. I believe it's mandatory to help them because once they helped us as a society.
