Treating abandoned dogs

There are a lot of people who try to one or another way help orphan kids, however, not as much of those people value orphan animals equally. So, being a bigger animal-lover than kid-lover at this stage of my life, I just had to include  an activity dedicated to left-alone-dogs (yes, I'm more of a dog than a cat person) to my CAS. Last year, Kamilė, Ignė and I baked dog treats which received a very positive feedback from the shelter we gifted them to. So without any additional doubt we all agreed to repeat this baking and maybe even inspire or encourage others to bake animal treats from natural ingredients instead of buying a chemically made ones.

Even though, as I mentioned, shelter dogs liked previous cookies, we decided to challenge ourselves and try a new recipe. It was kind of hard to pick one out of an endless options on the Internet, but in the end we chose the most nutritious one in our opinion. It contained peanut butter, oats, broth, flaxseeds and whole wheat flour. Seems a simple recipe? And it was! We just mixed everything up and it was ready to bake. The real struggle came when we had to cut out various shapes out of not really very smooth dough. Some shapes were falling apart and we had to repeat the process. After ten or less minutes they were already in the oven getting hard and crisp. It was very quick to make these treats not only because of a basic recipe but also because we already were acquainted with each other's abilities  in the kitchen and the whole process of cooking proceeded extremely smoothly.

Forgot to mention that probably the day or so before meeting to bake these cookies we all agreed that it's somewhat unfair to treat dogs and not those who look after them. That's why we also prepared a dough for chocolate chip cookies prior to making treats (for the dough to cool in the freezer). The latter were actually harder and longer to prepare, but we did a great group work anyways. The only concern was whether they will end up presentable both appearance-wise and taste-wise but after giving a little taste test (don't tell anyone!) we were convinced that everyone who loves chocolate will appreciate them!
It's only left to wait positive reviews from volunteers and dogs as well!
